EASY HOAGIE SANDWICH ROLLS

INGREDIENTS

270g warm water (110°F/45°C)

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

1 tbsp olive oil

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy.

  2. Add flour, oil, and salt to the yeast mixture.

  3. Place bowl on kitchen aid and start mixing on low. Once it forms a ball knead for about 5-7 minutes, adding more flour as needed until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

  5. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4-6 equal portions, depending on how large you want your hoagie rolls.

  6. Shape each portion into a long, oval-shaped roll and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  7. Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes.

  8. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.

  9. Make a few slashes across each roll with a sharp knife.

  10. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  11. Once they come out of the oven coat with butter. Let the hoagie rolls cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
