If you know me well you know my love for Cinnamon Rolls. I have made these so many times that I can't believe I am just now getting them on here. Yes, I know most of my recipes are macros friendly but we all got to live a little and enjoy a Cinnamon Roll once in a while.
INGREDIENTS
Dough
1 cup. warm water
2 Tbsp sugar
1 egg
Filling
2 Tbsp butter
1/2 sugar
Frosting
3 Tbsp butter, softened
1 cup powder sugar
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
pinch of salt
DIRECTIONS
In your kitchen aid mixer add warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it bloom for about 5 minutes.
Attach hook attachment. Add egg, salt, and 2 cups of flour. Start mixing on medium speed and add the rest of the flour until dough pulls away from the sides. Knead dough for 5-7 minutes.
Spray a medium size bowl with non-stick cooking spray and transfer dough to bowl. Let sit for 1 hour or until doubles in size.
On a clean counter top surface, sprinkle with flour and add dough on top of flour. Roll out dough to a 16 x 12 inch rectangle.
Melt butter and spread evenly onto dough. Mix together cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle evenly over butter.
Starting at one edge tightly roll dough. Once rolled cut into 12 pieces. Place in a casserole dish spade evenly apart and let rise for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
While your cinnamon rolls are baking. In your kitchen aid mixer, mix together butter, powdered sugar, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Top cinnamon rolls with frosting.
ENJOY!!!
